Mission

The role of Telecommunications and Networking is to provide an effective electronic communications infrastructure and related services that are responsive to the University's mission to teach, learn, and research. Services include:

  • wired, wireless, and remote connectivity to the campus network, commodity Internet, and research networks
  • analog, digital, and VoIP-based telephone instruments and services, various voicemail offerings, paging, public address, and access to 2- way radio systems
  • structured wiring to support access to data, voice, and video communication networks including the campus cable TV infrastructure
  • billing services to support the acquisition and billing of various commercial electronic communications services such as Internet, cellular, and long distance as well as managing cost recovery for the campus electronic communications infrastructure
  • IT security to defend this investment from various internal and external security threats
